Friday, September 9 Today we did a following directions activity. Students created some very...bizarre faces :) On Monday you will hand in your information sheet that was due today.
Tuesday, September 13 Today we handed in the sheets with the course expectations that you filled out. We did an introduction activity and then hung up our faces on the wall. We started a handout titled "Si le Canada est un village de 100 personnes". The PPT is attached here with the handout.
Tuesday, September 20 Today we did a pictionary activity with Tobermory vocabulary. Complete the "Expressions Utiles" with what you know for tomorrow.
Thursday, September 22 Today we began discussing interrogative words. There is one handout and an accompanying packet. Do exercises B and D. If you are confused with D, we will be taking it up together.
Friday, September 23 Today we began watching "Le Bon Dinosaure".
Tuesday, September 27 Today we reviewed interrogative words, worked on part of the packet (Finish exercise E for homework) and we worked through this PPT.
Thursday, September 29 Today we took up exercise E for homework. We then began discussing regular verbs. We played a matching game and we filled out a handout together. We began a verb worksheet/word search. Finish this for homework next Tuesday! I will be checking.
Tuesday, October 4 Today we reviewed the present tense and took up the answers from the word search you did for homework. We then did a whiteboard activity together and practiced our conjugations. We played charades together. For homework, please finish the quiz that was given to you. This is to help you improve. We will take it up together to see how you did on Thursday.
Thursday, October 6 Today we took up the quiz from last class. We then learned four common irregular verbs. After, we played battleship with verb conjugations. Quiz tomorrow!
Friday, October 7 Today we finished our battleship game and then took our quiz. We watched a few minutes of "Le Bon Dinosaure" together. No homework. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Tuesday, October 11 Today we played two Kahoot games to review of our irregular verbs. We then reviewed them as a class and partnered up for a quiz on questions. We will be finishing this quiz in class together on Thursday.
Thursday, October 13 Today we reviewed the present tense irregular verbs and studied questions for the last time together. We then began the futur proche, which we will finish learning about tomorrow.
Friday, October 14 Today we finished learning the futur proche and watched some of the movie "Le Bon Dinosaure". Finish up the futur proche handout for homework, especially if you were absent today.
Tuesday, October 18 Today we began reviewing the futur proche. We were joined by Mme Wiebenga's class where we made crystal balls and predicted each other's futures using the futur proche tense. We then handed in three predictions that we gave to our partner. At the end of class, we played a kahoot to practice the futur proche tense.
Thursday, October 10 Today we took up our futur proche worksheet and reviwed its structure. Then we discussed the upcoming test. We have a test on Tuesday, October 25! You will need to know how to do the following:
1. Conjugate present tense verbs (regular and the irregular verbs faire, etre, avoir, and aller.
2. Conjugate futur proche verbs.
3. Know the three ways to form questions and the question words.
4. Form questions and answers to questions.
Let me know if you have any questions! We will be reviewing tomorrow with our grandparents. Make sure you take your binders home this weekend to study!
Tuesday, October 25 Today we took the test! Have a great few days off.
Tuesday, November 1 Today we did a number of speaking activities with Simon's Cat and did a Halloween wordsearch together. We did a listening exercise after and listened to a video from the artist Stromae: Papaoutai. Students received a handout for this and filled in the blanks. Students got their tests back. You must fill out the song handout for homework.
Thursday, November 3 Today we finished the Simon's Cat activity.I handed out textbooks to everyone. Students are to finish their test corrections over the weekend. We discussed how to study for a test and we went over some of the parts of the test together.
Friday, November 4 Today we did some tactile activities. We read through a dialogue together from page 6 in the textbook and practiced introducing people. Complete the homework page with the presentation vocabulary and expressions.
Tuesday, November 8 Today we took up the homework page together. We practiced introducing ourselves to each other. We then worked on an articles handout that I had given you last unit, but we didn't get around to doing it. We did Exercice A together--you should do exercice B for homework.
Thursday, November 10 Began discussing adjectives.
Friday, November 11 Intro to characters slideshow . Did cahier pages together.
Tuesday, November 15 Took up adjective worksheet.
Thursday, November 17 Speaking activity in class and read the email. Students did responses together in partner groups. Finish for class tomorrow.

Tuesday, November 22 Today we reviewed adjectives and learned the irregular adjectives. We walked around the room and described different activities. Kyle's name was drawn from the basket time activity and now he needs to perform something for the class :) (or bring in snacks). Students received two charts with adjectives. They must finish the second for Thursday. We filled out this quadrant. This must be done (to the best of your ability) for homework: French adjectives sheet.
Thursday, November 24 Today we took up our homework. Then we worked through a handout to practice using adjectives.
Here are your project day instructions and the link to the video that you must watch. On your handout you wrote down the acronym BANGS. Fill that in with the appropriate information. Additionally, as you follow along with the video. Be sure to write down the practice examples to help you remember.
Tuesday, November 29 Today I checked the homework from project day and we took up the notes together using this handout about the BANGS acronym. We then practiced using the whiteboards. We worked on Mardi Musique as well:“Parc a Chien” - Louis-Philippe Gingras Music Video (un chanteur quebecois) Handout academic Handout applied. For homework, you must complete the whole backside of the BANGS worksheet above and complete questions 1-3 of Mardi Musique.
Thursday, December 2 Today we took up the video homework and then played a kahoot practice game. You can use kahoot at home if you would like, but you must create an account. TUESDAY WE HAVE A QUIZ ON ADJECTIVES
Thursday, December 15 Snow day!! For tomorrow, be sure to finish the handout given to you on modal verbs. As well, do this handout in preparation for the work we do tomorrow. Tomorrow we will be peer editing our paragraphs for the project "Portrait", so bring a rough draft of your paragraph to fulfill that requirement (part of your grade).
Friday, December 16 Today students worked on their portrait assignments for the class period. They peer edited each others using the peer editing document.
Tuesday, December 20 Today we continued learning about modal verbs. For homework, students must complete exercises 1 and 2 of the packet given to them. If you did not hand in your portrait assignment, it must be in my mailbox by tomorrow latest. On Friday we will be having a short quiz on modal verbs before the break.
Tuesday, January 10 Conge de Neige!! It has been a WHILE since we have seen each other, so I encourage you to look over your notes and come prepared for a quick recap before we move on to new content tomorrow. Additionally, as part of the in-class midterm, you will be doing a reading comprehension activity next week. Please listen to/read the subtitles on this video and do your best to understand it. Then, look at the questions and answer them. (it is explained on the Google Doc). Be sure that you are completing the correct level--applied or academic--as both are in the same document.
*On Friday, you will be reading your "portrait" assignment to the class. I will be giving these back to you tomorrow with the corrections. Be sure to go over those and come prepared to read on Friday. Just a heads up!

Bonjour, mes etudiants! Another snow day. Take a deep breath. And another. I know that if you work hard, you can perform well on your exams, so use this day to study comfortably. :) We are going to go ahead with the test on Thursday. Remember: there will be about 1.5 pages reviewing items we have gone over throughout the semester and about 1.5 pages on adjectives and modal verbs. If you hand in a completed review sheet (linked, but also given to you in class), you will receive extra bonus points. This is an easy way to study AND get credit for your hard work. If you still need to take a quiz for me--please come find me tomorrow in room 104.

January 31 Today we did a number of speaking and listening activity. We worked through the textbook modules on pages 32-33. We read the prodigal's son in French together as well.
February 2 Today we continued with the passe compose packet and played a game together. You must complete the first side of the handout given to you today in class for tomorrow's class.
February 3 Today we played a Kahoot to help us remember the past tense. We then listened to Etienne's (terrible) song about the passe compose.
We did some actions with it together to memorize some of the words. Students received an assignment after this. The lyrics. They created groups with which they will create songs. This is the assignment. We will discuss due dates later after we have built them. For homework on Tuesday, you must complete the backside of the sheet given to you last class. It is linked above, but also here.
Tuesday, February 7 T0day we took up the homework sheet and played Connect 4. On Thursday, we will have a quiz on regular verbs in the PAST TENSE. You must know how to conjugate them and you must know the meaning of the verbs we have studied so far. Study study!
Thursday, February 9 Today we took a passe compose quiz and marked it together. Then we filled out this chart with irregular past participles. Answers the the chart. For homework, you must create FLASHCARDS with the irregular past participles we learned today.
Friday, February 10 Today we played a kahoot to practice the past tense verbs. Then students were given time to work on their songs. For homework on TUESDAY, students must finish this handout. Part A and B of the song will be due on Tuesday, February 21.
Tuesday, February 14 Today I introduced DR MRS VANDERTRAMP verbs. We took a note on what these verbs are, when we use them, and what their past participles are. We then received a handout for homework that we must complete for Thursday.
Thursday, February 16 Today we did a number of listening activities. We will have a text on Thursday, March 2. We also worked on our song. You must hand in your review packet on the day of the test. DR MRS V info packet. We watched a short animation video and answered questions/did a speaking activity as the speaking part of our test using this handout.
Tuesday, February 28 Today we did a practice quiz, a reading activity and reviewed briefly for our test. I have moved the test back to Friday! We will have a review period on Thursday and then the test on Friday. The packet MUST be done on Thursday in order to get the answers.

Tuesday, March 7 Today we did a listening and reading activity about food. Don't forget that on THURSDAY, we will have our Fun French Food and Film Fete! You have signed up for an item that you have to bring!
Mardi, le 21 Mars Today we read through Psaume 23 together in French. We then discussed what we did over the Spring Break. We brainstormed questions in French and then students handed in 5 sentences (on this sheet) answering those questions. After, we went through the first page of the test together that students took before the break. We took it up and students went through it slowly. No homework today.
Vendredi, le 9 Juin Today we practiced for the oral exam using this PPT. Then students used the rest of their time to record their videos for the final cumulative.
